Cancellation or Changes to programs/facilities - As we continue to progress through this pandemic, there may need to be modifications or cancellations at any point to programs or facilities in order to comply with new guidelines from the state to keep everyone safe. We ask for your patience and understanding in advance as we are working in uncharted territory, and know that we will continue to work in the best interest of our community.
How can I find out what is available?
Please visit our website at rare-mi.org or visit our Facebook page (Roseville-Eastpointe Recreation Authority) to find the latest updates on our programs. Due to the ever-changing guidelines by the state, we are constantly making updates to our programs. We are doing our best to keep the community informed.
If you are able to open, why are some programs still being hosted outdoors?
The new guidelines from the state promotes as much programming to be continued outdoors. Many of the programs that have been moved to outdoors are programs that are difficult to promote social distancing inside and are best kept outside at this time.
What if there is inclement weather or cancellation of an outdoor program?
With some of our programming being held outdoors, there is a chance that inclement weather may affect the class. Depending on what is available, the class may be rescheduled or a partial refund will be given for the missed class. We understand that some classes go past October and may not be able to be held outdoors. We will evaluate the program in mid-October to determine the likelihood of the class continuing outdoors or if we are able to move it indoors to complete the class. Each class has their own restrictions and will have a different outcome. Please be patient as we do not have an exact answer for each program at this time. We will make updates to programs as soon as we have an appropriate plan for each program we offer.
Are masks required?
Masks are required at all time inside the Recreation Authority. However, masks are recommended to be worn at programs outdoors but are not required if social distancing is able to be practiced.
What about youth basketball and programs that are scheduled to start later in the season?
At this time, we are have only made decision on programs that start in the months of September and October. With the ever-changing guidelines from the state, we are making updates and decisions on programs each week. Please visit our website rare-mi.org or visit our Facebook Page (Roseville-Eastpointe Recreation Authority) for the latest updates on programs.
Am I able to rent a room in the building?
At this time, we are not renting our rooms. Due to the 25% capacity limit per room, and the requirement of social distancing, we felt that it is not safe at this time to allow for room rentals.
Is the Senior Center / Drop-in room / Game room open?
The indoor programming for the Senior Center, Drop-in Room and Game Room are closed for the time being. However, the Senior Center staff is in the office Monday – Friday, 9:00am-4:00pm. There are some great outdoor programs being hosted for our senior community these upcoming weeks.
